City Smasher has to be one of the all time favorite games I have played in a long time. If you are the slightest bit fed up or angry with something or someone then you have to have a go at this game. It is action packed and a perfect way to get rid of all of your aggression.
Basically you are an angry giant that goes around smashing up buildings, throwing cars in the air and killing people. There are also kamikaze planes that dive bomb to kill and ruin buildings. By using the arrows for movement and the A and S you can control your angry giant to kick, run, throw people or cars in the air and throw fire bombs. The game is full of action and goes on for as long as you are skillful.
There are two different modes you can play, the objective mode or the sandbox mode. The objective mode gives you a few pointers about what to do and then many different tasks. The tasks can be for example destroying 20 cars, or 20 buildings of a certain type. Once you have destroyed them you are given extra time to carry on the game, if you do not succeed in destroying enough in your allotted time, the game is over. Along the way you are given different tips to help you and guide you.
The sandbox mode is straight play with no tasks and a great way to practice the game before you start the objective mode. Throughout the whole game there is exciting music accompanied by cries and other sound effects that makes the game very realistic. It is a fast action game and very enjoyable to play time and time again.

Paintball, The Game is another game that sounds like it has lots of promise and will be quite exciting but when you actually come to play it is rather non happening.
Paintball can be found in the addictive games website under the strategy games. When I played it maybe I missed the point and that is why I am a little disappointed with it. Basically all that you have to do is draw the continuation of a line and see where the ball that is set free will bounce. There is no goal in this game apart from your own personal goal of how to bounce a ball maybe?
If you don’t like the way you have drawn the line, you can delete it and redraw it with the aid of the space bar and your mouse. Maybe the idea is to try and get the ball to bounce perpetually or maybe there is some deeper meaning to this game that I haven’t quite figured out yet. Either way it is fun once or twice to draw some crazy lines on the screen and then watch a ball bounce but after a while it all seems so pointless.
I am not sure that I can wholly recommend this game although I do think people should try it in case they see something in it that I did not, like a hidden trick. The music is lively and the screen is clear so even if you don’t like the game you can enjoy the music!

When I looked at this game which can be found on the addictivegames website I thought it looked really good and exciting but I have to say I was more than a little disappointed. Classroom is advertised as a game of promise, one that you can really enjoy, sadly I did not.
The basic concept of Classroom is to try and beat the teacher. You are a new pupil to the school and you have to try and cheat from the “geek” in the classroom. To start with he is next to you so there is no moving around and it is very easy to cheat. By right clicking you get to fill the cheat bar. Once the cheat bar on the right hand side of the screen is full then you commence to the second level.
At the second level, a little strategy comes into play. Here you have to try and move to the little body that you are cheating from without the teacher seeing you, and get back to your place in time. The teacher has quite a wide range of vision. It is possible to fill the cheat bar at each level but you have to try and preempt what the teacher is doing and get back to your seat before the teacher sees you.
As I said the principle of the game is cute but it is monotonous and quite boring. You are basically doing the same thing over and over again on a rather boring screen. For some this may be enjoyable but I can’t say that I took to this game too much!

Dolphin Cup which can be found on the addicitvegames website is a game of skill. There is no luck involved in this game, either you have the coordination or not.
Dolphins are very graceful creatures but in this game of Dolphin Cup if you don’t maneuver the dolphin correctly it can end up doing enormous belly flops or banging its head on the bottom of the seabed. The game is very cute but you need to practice a lot in order to become skillful and give your dolphin the credit it deserves for its jumps, flips and tricks.
The aim of the game is to try and get as many good flips and jumps and even tricks within the 2 minute time limit that you have. There are no real rules but you have to use the arrows to control the dolphin. The left and right arrows move the dolphin left and right respectively and the down arrow rolls the dolphin and the up arrow accelerates every move he does, be careful not to accelerate on your way down as you can get a nasty bump, the screen does not always show how close the sea bed is.
At the end of your two minutes you receive a summary of the way you have played, giving you your highest jump, longest jump, biggest splash, highest speed and largest combination of tricks. Throughout the game there are different obstacles that you can find from schools of fish to spinning in space if you accelerate fast enough when climbing. Dolphin Cup is definitely a fun game to play and especially good if you want to test your coordination skills.

Bloons is a simple but extremely fun game that can be found in the Addicting games website under shooting games. Bloons is not your average shooting the enemy game; it is a more fun lighthearted game that at first seems very simple.
Bloons is all about angles. If you get the right angle then you can win. You are the monkey and you have at your disposal a number of darts. All that you have to do is pop the balloons by shooting the darts at the right angle. Sounds simple so far, doesn’t it? You have to angle the darts according to where you think they will cause maximum damage and pop as many balloons as possible.
I am embarrassed to say that I still have not made it past the first level even though I have been playing this game for a few weeks now. It doesn’t matter though it is still great fun and a great interlude if you need a break from some heavy work. There are 50 levels in total; I guess each one more harder than the other. But you can only go to the next level if you pop enough balloons on the previous level. Well as I mentioned so far I haven’t managed that yet.
The monkey is cute and his friends the arrows are fast. The way you project your shots in this game is what is crucial. Bloons is a game that I will definitely carry on playing especially as I want to get past the first level!

If you want high action and lots of shooting with loud noise and things flying all over the place then don’t choose this game of Tanks. Tanks which can be found at the Addicting games website is a gentle game that can even be described as cute.
It has all the promise of a fast action game when you first log in and get to an impressive screen with khaki colors and many choices to make, terrain, color of tank and so on. But when you actually get to play the game it is all rather gentle. There are many different options that you can choose, such as type of fire power, and strength of it. The left and right arrows move the tank and the up and down arrows assist you in the cannon rotation.
By the time you maneuver all of the arrows or change your fire power from missile to volcanic bomb, you are raring to go. When you actually shoot, by pressing on the enter bar it is all very disappointing. A projectile bomb is sent from your tank with the aim of trying to hit the other tank. You can play against another player or choose to be both players playing against each other.
If the missile or volcanic bomb hits the tank you are dead, if it hits the ground near or around your tank some of the land is blasted away which can often leave you precariously standing on top of a hill or in a sand dune. To me the game is slow and lacks something, I am not sure I will rush to play it again. It could be good for kids.

Boomshine is one of those gentle games that you can play any time of day or night if you want to escape from reality. As you play Boomshine which can be found under the strategy section of the www.addictinggames.com website, gentle classical piano music is played in the background.
The concept of Boomshine is very simple. You are basically the torch holder in a room of colorful moving balls. By shining the torch in the room at a certain place you light up a circumference of the torch and in the process may hit other balls. There is a knock on effect and the more balls you hit the better. The game is split into different levels and you have to try and hit as many balls as required as you go from level to level. You cannot move up a level until you have reached the required number in the first level.
If you reach the required number or more, you are taken to a black screen where dramatic red fonted writing will advise you of your score and what you achieved. If your light runs out before you have hit the required number of balls, the screen will tell you to try again and advise you how many you hit or if you are one or two away from the required number. At each level there are more balls on the screen and the ratio of balls you have to hit increases.
As far as I can see the game is endless, you can carry on hitting the balls for as long as you want and until you get as far as you want. This is a gentle game but as you continue to play it you will see there is a strategy involved and you need to work out the best place on the board for that all important first click to shine your torch.
I do recommend playing this game as a gentle interlude but not necessarily as a competitive game. It is too gentle for that.

Yes we all are kids at heart and love to go back to our childhood. Battle Buggy is one of those games that enable those of us to do so, especially if you think of yourself as a hot blooded tough male. Battle Buggy is all about shooting and killing.
Basically in Battle Buggy all that you have to do is shoot everything in site. Whether it is a kamikaze pilot, a plane overhead or bombs that are dropping from the skies. At the same time as shooting all of these you need to try and avoid the bombs that are being dropped on you from all directions. There is plenty of noise going on to distract you and the game is located in what looks like a mud bath with buildings behind it. To me the Battle Buggy looks like a yellow tank which is a cross between a digger and a tank – interesting!
With the help of the arrow keys and by left clicking on your mouse you can move and shoot. Battle Buggy is a fast action game, you cannot turn away for a minute or you will get blasted. There are no scores to be achieved in this game just pure fun. Battle Buggy provides a great respite from tedium of work and house chores. I definitely believe this is a game for adults who want to be kids and not the other way around. If you can stand the noise and like lots of fast action and shooting, then try out Battle Buggy but don’t be disappointed when it ends so quickly because you got blown to pieces!

Although named Avalanche, I think this game that can be found in the action section of action games in the Addictinggames website could have a more apt name. What the name could be I am not sure, maybe something like Sink or Climb.
The game is very simple, you are a white blob and have to avoid falling bricks at the same time as trying to climb them. The higher you get the safer you are. But if you fall you may fall in the rising water which seeps through a hole in the ground. The idea of the game is to get as high as possible without falling or drowning. If you do drown, your white blob disintegrates into pieces and you can start the game again by pressing the enter bar.
Unfortunately I am not very coordinated so never seemed to get further than about 30 ft. By using the arrows you can move up and down, left and right as you jump. The blocks go all over the place so it is very difficult to move around, sometimes you have to go down in order to go up. Having said that you must always be aware of the rising water which can end it all very quickly. If you need to pause at any stage of the game, simply press the P on your keyboard and you can resume the game again when you are ready.
Avalanche is a relatively quick game and I think you have to be well coordinated in order to do well in this game. It is a game that you can play time and time again without getting bored of it as it is quick. Avalanche definitely provides a good break from tedium and something to play if you like some self competition.
